Alex Mallory is a partner and shareholder at McCurdy, Wotila & Porteous, PC, where he focuses his practice on estate planning, estate administration, and trust administration. He joined the firm as a clerk in 2017, became an associate in 2018, and became a partner and shareholder in 2023.
Alex serves on the boards of the Wexford County Council on Aging, the Cadillac Area Chamber of Commerce, and Cadillac Area Young Professionals. He is also an active member of the State Bar of Michigan’s Probate and Estate Planning Section, serving as chair of its Ethics and Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee and on its publication’s editorial board.
Alex has presented on legal topics for the Institute of Continuing Legal Education (ICLE) and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA). His writing has appeared in the Probate and Estate Planning Section’s publication for the Michigan State Bar Journal and the Wexford County Council on Aging’s newsletter.
A Cadillac-area resident since 2018, Alex was born and raised in Haslett, Michigan, and has deep roots in the Spartan community. He graduated at the top of his class from Michigan State University in 2015, majoring in Communication and minoring in Public Relations. He earned his Juris Doctor from Michigan State University College of Law in 2018.
Outside the office, Alex and his Fiancé Ellie enjoy Michigan’s outdoors in every season. They spend the warmer months camping, biking, canoeing, and playing golf. In winter, they can often be found skiing at Caberfae or hiking the snowy trails around the Cadillac area.
