Mediation is a private and consensual process in which disputing parties work with an impartial person, a mediator,  to explore settlement, reconciliation and understanding of the issues at hand.  As mediators, attorneys at McCurdy, Wotila & Porteous encourage communication and recognition among the parties and assist them in deciding how and under what terms to resolve their differences.  Among other things, our attorneys help  parties to identify issues, maximize the exploration of alternatives, and reduce obstacles to communication.

Our attorneys have vast experience in this field and have gained the respect of both clients their attorneys.  We do not render decisions on the issues in dispute, but guide parties and their attorneys to a resolution.  While the primary responsibility for the resolution of the dispute ultimately rests with the parties, we have proven to be effective in facilitating this important practice of alternative dispute resolution.
